"We live in Magdalen Road, London and needed a new roof, so after we had the planning permission approved and quotations, we employed Giles’s firm Empire Builders.

We started the work in March 2017 and as always the project developed along the way and we ended up rebuilding the 2nd floor of the house with a master bedroom with en suite bathroom, a second small bedroom and a storage/ utility room.

The project involved lots of complicated work such as moving staircases and chimneybreasts. Giles has a team of builders who are brothers and they work hard, with great care, quality and good workmanship, and always with a smile on their face.

The building team were incredibly clean and tidy, and every day swept up and cleared up the site and throughout the house. As the work progressed we had quotes for the extra work involved and many meetings with Giles to discuss new ideas on how the rooms should look. Giles is creative and open to ideas and his workmen execute with good grace even when it means changing work already done.

We have ended up with a wonderful new space in the top of the house and can recommend Giles to anyone wanting to improve their home.”
